What to do with Kids!

KIDS! THE SCIENCE MUSEUMS are all ultra modern ... interactive, my kid loves them all... ten year old... Parque Explora has interactive physics demos like the Exploratorium in San Francisco. The the Acuario here is world class. Across the street is the Planetario, brand new, interactive. At Alpujarra are the EPM Library kids room with programs and materials for kids, computers . Also nearby there is the Barefoot Park.. designed as a walk thru many surfaces and water... bare foot, zen.. Nearby the ultra hi tech water museum from EPM, interactive computer driven environmental museum and exhibitions.

METRO RIDING,  METROCABLE UP THE MOUNTAINS, NEW LIGHT RAIL SYSTEM, RAILROAD MUSEUM.

.  Ecological Parque Arvi is designed for kids to get a nature experience. You go via Metrocable skimming the tree tops for several kilometers after first climbing 3000 feet from the Valley floor. There are designated nature walks, waterfalls and streams, wildlife galore, native Tombo huts. Farmer's market, souvenirs, restaurants.

Ice skating at Santa Fe Mall for Navidad. Little penguin assists for beginners.

My ten year old daughter is in an educational paradise. As a former middle school science teacher I wish I had half of these resources for kids.

MANY first rate Kids music concerts by kids ad for kids. in all types of music.

THE MUSEUM de Antioquia has the Botero experience room for kids. The Museum of Modern Art has kid based exhibits and activities, rooftop gardens and great gifts for kids. . The U de Antioquia Museum has a very interesting display of Pre Columbian art and science. Amusement Parque Norte is cool old fashioned rides..

Check out programs at the Metropolitano and other theater venues. Swimming for Christmas in Santa Fe de Antioquia.

The old Cementerio San Pedro is also a museum... one of the most beautiful spots in Medellin! Something very different is Full Moon nights at the Cemetery with dance and music and light shows.

Parque de los Deseos has outdoor physics demos for kids and a great slanting pavement for sliding.   Rock Climbing. amusement rides at El Tesoro and Santa Fe Malls... kid playlands in al the malls, special kid themed exhibits and fun areas too.

Scott Tesoro Larry, you are awesome! I was reading your posts to the kids and they were jumping up and down. We went to the stadium in Laureles this morning which was great. We will definitely hit some of your other suggestions. We've been traveling for two months now and my wife and I discovered early on that they need to have kid activities. We were in Oaxaca before Colombia and we're lucky enough to meet some other families with similar ages kids. That really helped us as a family bring some familiarity into our life. Hope to do the same here especially if we plan on being here a few months. Thanks again!
